The Glamorgan Record Office
At the Glamorgan Record Office we can help you understand a bit more about the history of the county, the place you live, your ancestors who may have lived here, or many other aspects of Glamorgan. The documents we hold contain information about all sorts of Glamorgan people in the past - from leading members of the community to servants and the poor.
The Cynon Valley Museum & Gallery
Cynon Valley Museum & Gallery opened in 2001 and is situated on the outskirts of Aberdare in the south Wales valleys. Developed with the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund the museum & gallery is situated on the site of the 19th century Gadlys Ironworks.
The Rhondda Heritage Park
The Rhondda Heritage Park based at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery, Trehafod, is one of the top heritage and cultural visitor attractions in South Wales and provides a fun and interesting day out for individuals, groups, school children and students.
A visit to Rhondda Cynon Taf will offer you sweeping views, fascinating history and a vibrant cultural experience. But you’d get that anywhere in Wales. What makes our Valleys so special? Is it our ear for a tune? Hymns, arias and rock music? Or, our history? After all, the South Wales Valleys built modern Wales. Is it our waterfalls, ribbon housing and imposing mountains? Or our people and our welcome?
